What’s a luxury holiday cottage?
Renowned fashion designer and queen of luxury clothing Coco Channel was right on the money when she said: “Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury”. this is the channel up which we tack when it comes to our luxury holiday cottages.
Home comforts
Managed by the Sawday family, Quay Quarters has a traditional family feel with lashings of luxury to boot. Our luxury holiday cottages (of which there are 5 of various sizes, sleeping between 2 and 6 people) are all decked with the finest soft furnishings, solid wood flooring and home from home comforts so that you can look on Quay Quarters as your home from home. The traditional Sussex holiday cottage you decide to stay in will have its own style and homely vibe and, when you arrive, you can rest assured your comfortable bed will be made up of the finest quality bed linens – ready for you to jump in and snuggle down to bliss.
If you decide that you’d like to stay onsite and make the most of the views over the surrounding farmland and towards the South Downs beyond, you’ll be pleased to hear that all our cottages boast fully-equipped kitchens with everything you need to master your own culinary creations. Should you need any specific kitchen equipment, let us know before you arrive and we’ll do our very best to accommodate.

The finer details
There’s nothing like waking to the smell of fresh coffee and, as each of our luxury holiday cottages has a Tassimo coffee machine for your delectation, that’s standard practice at Quay Quarters. You can even enjoy your cuppa while taking in a movie by the fire as each 5-star holiday cottage boasts a digital flat screen TV, DVD library and electric wood burner too.
Want to take things outside? The finer details continue with our luxury holiday cottages featuring glorious outdoor spaces, some with access to our sensational rose gardens or private patios, all with quality garden furniture that will make dining alfresco an absolute treat.
“Luxury lives in the finer details. It’s a cloth napkin at a dinner table. It’s a mint on your pillow before bed” – Iggy Azalea.
Beautiful bathrooms
After a day of watersports in Chichester Harbour, a bracing morning walk at East Head or an afternoon exploring the delights of the South Downs National Park, your tired feet and aching muscles might be in need of a good hot bath. Out holiday cottages (with the exception of Stable Cottage that has an en-suite shower room) feature bathtubs waiting to be filled with warm water and your choice of bubbles. The master bedroom in Rose Cottage even has a corner bath for maximum luxury lavation.
“I thoroughly enjoy a good hot bath. That is my ultimate luxury” – Michelle Yeoh.
